Autumn days are perfect for watching the rain outside, sitting in warm place with a cup of chamomile tea with honey. You can lengthen the feeling of calmness by including chamomile in your daily beauty routine.
People used chamomile in natural medicine for centuries because of its healing properties and calming effect. The two most used kinds of chamomile are the German and the Roman chamomile.
The German chamomile is more potent than the Roman. It has higher content of azulene, an organic compound. The latter gives the distinctive blue colour of the chamomile oil.
For today’s recipe, chamomile sugar body scrub, I used German chamomile. If you prefer you can use Roman chamomile. It is not of significant matter.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
- Clear glass jar, 250 ml (8.5 oz)
- 190 grams (6.7 oz) brown sugar
- 15 tbsp grape seed oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tea bags of dried chamomile
- 10 drops German chamomile essential oil
Benefits of the chamomile sugar body scrub
The brown sugar is an amazing exfoliator, which moisturizes the skin.
The honey is a natural antioxidant. It prevents the skin from aging and hydrates it deeply.
The grape seed oil is a moisturizer that is high in fatty acids and vitamin E. The fatty acids and the vitamin E help your skin to stay young longer.
The dried chamomile calms and softens the skin. It acts as a natural bleacher – lightens the skin, makes it radiant and fades the scars.
The German chamomile essential oil is great for a dry skin. It is an abundant source of antioxidants and improves the condition of the skin in depth. The scent of the oil fights with the feeling of depression and has a strong calming effect.
