The lemon face scrub is not only super gentle to your skin, but it will clean it in depth. The lemon helps you fight acne, blackheads and lightens the skin.
This scrub doesn’t contain sugar. Sugar is a strong exfoliator. If you have sensitive skin, applying sugar and lemon to your face can only damage it.

Start with grinding the oats. For that purpose use a spice grinder. The result should be fine oat powder.
Add the lemon peel powder to the grinded oats and mix well.
Add the lavender water and the lemon essential oil. Stir well till everything blends.
The mixture may look diluted initially, but it will become thicker. The oats will absorb the water.
The lemon face scrub is ready for use.
How to use it
Use it only before bedtime. Don’t use it in the morning, because the citrus oils are potentially phototoxic. This can lead to irritation of the skin and pigmentation.
Use on a clean face. Scrub for 1-2 min and then leave for another 1-2 min. Avoid the delicate eye area. Rinse with cold water to seal the pores. As this face scrub is gentle you can use it 3-4 times a week.
How long it lasts
Use it no longer than 1 week and keep it in the refrigerator during this time.
Tips and common mistakes
If you have oat flour near at hand you can use it directly instead of grinding oats. Use 2 rounded tbsp oat flour.
For this mask you will need lemon peel powder. However if you don’t have one, you can grind some dried lemon peels. Just make sure that they are grinded very well and there aren’t any large pieces left. You can sift the grinded lemon peels for best result.
The lavender water can be replaced with rose water or any such kind you have near at hand. Don’t use tap water unless you are going to use the whole quantity of the scrub immediately. Using tap water will decrease the shelf life of the product drastically.
Don’t add all the water at once. Add ⅔ of it, stir well and wait few minutes. In this way you can control the thickness of the mixture. Don’t make it too thick. It will be hard to apply on the face.
