The lemon sugar scrub is a perfect tool to brighten your skin. The fresh lemon zest will awake your senses. The strong citrus scent will recharge your body and leave you in a good mood all day.
The lemon body scrub is also a great way to revive your skin after the long winter months.

Start with preparing the lemon zest. To get one tablespoon of lemon zest you will need about one lemon. The lemon zest decreases significantly the shelf life of the lemon sugar scrub. Yet I use it because it gives an awesome citrus scent to the body scrub. Also the contrast between the white sugar and the yellow lemon peels is nice.
Pour the white sugar and the grapeseed oil in a bowl. Stir well and add the essential oils.
The last step is to add the lemon zest and stir carefully. I add it in the last step to minimize the coloring of the sugar from the lemon peels. I want the sugar as white as possible.
The body scrub is ready.
How to use it
Use it 2-3 times a week by massaging the scrub on your body. Rinse with a shower gel.
How long it lasts
The lemon body scrub will be ok to use for about 2 weeks. The shelf life is short because of the fresh lemon zest. If you skip the latter, the sugar body scrub will last few months.
Tips and common mistakes
The lime essential oil is optional. I just like the combination of these two essential oils. You can replace the lime essential oil with a few more drops of the lemon essential oil.
Don’t forget to add the lemon zest last. In this way the sugar will stay whiter. It will contrast with the yellow lemon. Save some lemon zest for topping.
