The lavender face mask cleans the pores, softens the skin and fights with the wrinkles. I have tried many homemade face masks, but this one is my all time favourite.
Preparation time: 5 minutes
- 2 clear glass jars, 15 ml (0.5 oz)
- 30 grams (1 oz) white kaolin clay
- 1/2 tsp blueberry powder
- 8 tbsp grapeseed oil
- 5 drops lavender essential oil
The white kaolin clay purifies the pores and detoxes the skin.
The blueberry powder is full of antioxidants. They help your skin to stay young.
The grapeseed oil helps to lock-in the moisture and reduces the production of skin’s natural oils.
The lavender essential oil brightens the skin and reduces the dark age spots.
Check out the video or follow the directions below.
Mix the white kaolin clay with the blueberry powder.
Add the grapeseed oil and the lavender essential oil. Stir about 5 min and you’re done.
The lavender face mask is ready.
How to use it
Clean the face, dry it and apply the mask. Leave it for 5-10min. To remove it use a face sponge. Wet the sponge with hot water, squeeze out and remove the mask.
If you try to remove the mask with cold water or without a sponge, the grapeseed oil will remain, leaving the skin greasy. The first time I tried to wash the mask only with warm water and it was a disaster. Using a face sponge also helps to clean the pores.
Use 2-3 times a week.
How long it lasts
Use the product within a week.
Tips and common mistakes
You can use your favourite carrier oil instead of grapeseed oil. Yet, it is better to use light oils that are easily absorbed by the skin.
If you want to get a mask with more deep colour, just add more blueberry powder.
To get a mask with a smooth texture, you have to stir more than a couple of minutes. At the beginning the texture is lumpy but after few minutes it gets smooth.
