The coconut oil is solid at room temperature. However during the summer when it’s hotter, it becomes liquid. To be precise, it starts to melt at 24 °C (76 °F). Thus if you want an orange scrub with creamy texture, avoid making this recipe during the hot months.
Pour the coconut oil and the honey in a bowl. There is no need to melt the coconut oil. Its texture is soft and it can be easily mixed with the honey.
Add the turmeric powder and mix again.
Add the sugar and stir til everything blends well. The last step is to add the orange essential oil.
Mix one last time and the orange sugar scrub is ready.
How to use it
Use it 2-3 times in a week. Rinse with water and a shower gel. The shower gel is a must because of the turmeric powder.
How long it lasts
It will last few months.
Tips and common mistakes
The turmeric powder gives a yellow color of the scrub. If you skip the powder, the white color of the coconut oil will be visible.
There is no need to melt the coconut oil for this recipe. Yet, if it is too hard, melt it via the water bath method.
